And just like that, the air conditioner/pigeon aerie across the way has been uninstalled. Pretty much simultaneously as the heat being turned on in my building. It does make sense, out with the summer, in with the winter. But is this the end for our pigeon friends? Doubtful. If history’s an example, they find ways to nest in the smallest of places. To save my windowsills, I think I need to get some of those little spike strips you might see set up at train stations so that birds don’t line up on the bars above the platforms and emulate the MTA by, well, crapping all over commuters.
