Syntaxing on a Saturday Afternoon

So, being self-conscious is bad. It’s prohibitive and wasteful. Insecure people are self-conscious.

But being self-aware is perhaps the most freeing attribute anyone could demonstrate. Confident people are self-aware.

Why is -conscious bad and -aware good?

Don’t they mean the same thing?

So, shouldn’t self-conscious and self-aware mean the same thing?

It’s about knowledge of the self.

Though not in the Catholic sense, wherein to know thyself is bad. And prohibitive and wasteful. Insecure people prefer to know themselves.

Just what in the hell is going on here?
