So, hang out with me for thirty minutes and you’ll know just how much MythBusters I watch.

It’s not that I rewatch the shows, I just happen to have lots of catching up to do, having gone without cable for a bit. When DVR offers to save for me all the episodes I haven’t seen, I’m going to go ahead & let it. They’re not too demanding at 40 minutes a pop and they’re great fun – like watching a crossword puzzle solve itself, only more inspiring.

Anyway, a recent quick wikipedia (quikipedia?) search of beret-sporting, red-sneaker wearing co-host Jamie Hyneman led me to a satisfying little nugget of information. Turns out that after being born in Marshall, Michigan, Jamie grew up in Columbus, Indiana–

Which doesn’t prove anything besides how sad things have become ’round here–

Until you read that Columbus, Indiana, is also the hometown of shoe-designer Chuck Taylor.

I’m gonna inductively reason that Jamie’s offbeat footwear is not random, but is in fact a dual homage to a fellow hometown celebrity in a state whose university color is RED.

Who cares if I’m wrong? Makes sense enough to me. Plausible.

Time for bed and dreaming of a more fruitful nightlife.
